September 22 Alum Creek State Park, located in Delaware, OH (just north of Columbus) - is a man-made reservoir with a 3,000 ft beach. The area is perfect for spectators to view any size course or boats. The 2009 Thunder on the Creek event occurred on Sept 19th. It was a one-day race exhibition approved by the APBA. The event hosted around 35 Inboard and Vintage hydroplanes on a 1.25 mile course. The locals were very supportive and organizers are already planning for next years inboard race event.
